How do I draw or insert a box around text in a pdf on Adobe Acrobat XI Standard? I can insert a text box onto the pdf and write inside the text box but also want to be able to put a box around certain items on the pdf to draw attention to them. i.e. put a box around the Invoice # on an invoice I have in pdf form.

Text Box Editing I select the Add or Edit Text Box tool and add a text box to a PDF. Now I need align the text within the text box. Using the Select Object tool, I select the text box and right click. There is an option to align, however, none of the options are available for me to choose.
I just finished creating an interactive pdf but the text boxes I created wont expand when the text box is full, it keeps going but wont to the next line (I dont know how to explain it). Is there a way to have an expandable interactive text box or would I need to use another app?
With Acrobat X or XI you would select Tools>Forms>Edit, then double-click on the text box you want to change. Go to the Appearance tab and click on the Fill Color icon and pick the color. On a Mac you would have to deselect "Transparent" for the color to stick.

CAD application oftentimes don't add real text to documents, they still have the old plotter mindset where they just draw the characters via vector drawing commands. Real text is stored and used differently in a PDF file. This means that Acrobat is not recognizing these drawing commands as text.
I used to be able to do this in older versions of Acrobat (I am now using Pro DC). I would add a text box, with a white fill and no border to white out whatever I wanted covered up. Then I would create the text I wanted somewhere else on the document, type the text, then drag it over the white box. ...
