Heavy casualties are feared after a massive flash flood in parts of nothern Nepal washed away villages and damaged infrastructure, including a hydropower dam. The flood hit early on Wednesday in Rasuwa, an area north of Nepal's capital Kathmandu, which borders the Himalayan region of Tibet.

Rescue teams were searching for hundreds of missing people along the Nepal-China border after a deadly torrent of floods and mud swept through communities following a glacial collapse.

Hundreds of people are missing following a flash flood in the Bhote Koshi river along the Nepal-Tibet border. In an update shared on X, the Nepal Tourism Board says it has identified 384 travellers as missing in total, including 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepali nationals.

Nearly 300 foreign nationals from countries including the U.S. and India were reported missing after the floods.
